What's up everybody! Happy holidays and happy Friday!
So there wasn't an update last week due to the holidays, and this weeks update will be a bit short because of the holiday as well. Naturally, we've all taken that time off and there has been basically no progress for the past week, couple that with an unfortunate technical issue and we're a few weeks behind schedule now. That's fine, no deadlines, no commitment, we'll just keep plugging away.
We have been in continued contact with license holder, G-Mode, and are assured that the license is still on the table for us, and nothing is taking the deal away. It is still just a matter of money to secure the rights and allow us to release the game. The same money that is going to determine whether or not we can finish the game. We have other plans to secure funding, but we are going to attempt Kickstarter again first. We feel we've learned alot from the first attempt, and we are preparing a pitch that we feel should alleviate all the concerns of our ability to produce a product.
Naturally, Jesh was a casualty in this process. We have had Jesh brought up to us during our previous Kickstarter, and we assured people on numerous occasions we weren't hiding from Jesh, we were meerly not bringing it up because it just had nothing to do with Bad Dudes 2, and was irrelevant. What happened with Jesh is very unfortunate, and being a beloved character of mine, I have taken to it's casualty quite hard. However, Jesh is a project that we made an attempt at for several years, and have been thrown back to square one three times, at this point it is too hard to continue, and we wanted to give ourselves a fresh start on another project that was honestly, for us, a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Don't mistake me though, Jesh is not "dead". Jesh is still very much something we intend on returning to. It's a vastly different style of game than Bad Dudes 2, although it does have a similar foundation, and I still very much believe in it's design and characters. Everyone who pledged to the Jesh Kickstarter was contacted during the Bad Dudes 2 Kickstarter to be informed of how we would be making it up to them. While I know that is not enough, it's what we felt we needed, and could, do.
There will be a section of the website that details Jesh and the status of it in full, and in the future, when people bring up Jesh we will just be redirecting them to the site. Jesh is in the past, and Bad Dudes 2 is our focus.
Thanks for hanging out and checking out the blog, I wish I could tell you when you're going to get a peek at the prototype, but all I can say is it will be soon!
Happy post-holiday everyone!
Welcome Back!
It's been awhile hasn't it? We've missed you, and we've missed talking about Bad Dudes 2!
So the sleuthful members of our fanbase will have no doubt noticed posts on our facebook page or through our twitter that claim we are still working on Bad Dudes 2, we are gearing up for a new reveal, and you will be hearing something soon. The website has been left in the dark for some time now as we waited until we were organized and ready for our re-reveal of the project. Is that day today?
No, unfortunately, it is not.
However what today is, is the day we can finally say the reveal is coming soon. Very soon. We have taken alot of time to reorganize our pitch, reorganize our team, and prepare for a new unveiling of the game that we have far more confidence in. Starting up the Weekly-What's-Updates again is our way of saying we're on track, and it's time for us to be vocal and interact with our community again.
Speaking of community, that's something we want to get deeper involved with. During our previous Kickstarter campaign we spent countless hours interacting and exchanging thoughts and comments with our followers and fans. It was a rewarding and priceless experience. We want that experience to be a part of this website, so expect to see social changes coming to the website in the near future, direct ways for you to contact us outside of email, and talk with other Bad Dudes 2 fans.
Keeping in contact with all of our followers is very important to us, and we want to provide regular content on this website to encourage those people to visit, and also provide easy ways for all of those people to provide feedback.
Be sure to bookmark this page, like us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter. Every Friday the website will recieve an update, with our re-reveal coming shortly, all building towards the launch of our new Kickstarter for Bad Dudes 2.
Kickstarter was an amazing opportunity for us, and we've learned alot from the poor and unprepared presentation we made. We know there is a rather sizable community that wants this sequel to happen, and we know the unanimous cry was for more to show and some proof we have the team to make it happen. We have that team, a team of passionate individuals, each with their own personal connection to the original game we all loved. Bad Dudes isn't just a retro revival to us, it's not just a topical name-grab out of a hat. Bad Dudes is something that our team is very passionate about, and has years of memories surrounding it. Bad Dudes deserves a sequel, and we have been the only people to ever pursue it through the necessary legal means. Clearly, the AAA gaming industry has zero plans of ever bringing these boys out of retirement, but we want to prove to them that Blade and Striker still knock skulls with the best of them.
Stay tuned folks, a Kickstarter launch date will be announced soon, and regular updates will be coming to the site between now and then.

Hello all, thanks for tuning in again!
Unfortunately, there isn't much in the way of an update this week. We're still working away as we can on our new reveal trailer and gameplay proof of concept, but don't really want to spoil any of it before hand so that's about all I can say about it.
We're going to be releasing the Jesh prototype this month. We have spent the last few months trying to find someone willing to work on it with us to improve it, but at this point its sort of a loss, we'll have to start from scratch. For those that aren't 100% familiar with the situation, Jesh was going to be Pinstripe Games' first title. In some ways on the outside, Jesh seems alot like an action brawler similar to Bad Dudes 2, I can assure you down to a design level, the two could not be any different.
Jesh is still a project we are very excited about, unfortunately finding a dedicated coder willing to stay on a project long term strictly because of his love of the project isn't all that easy to do, especially when people need to make money to live. We generated some funds via a Kickstarter (that was largely funded through facebook family and friends, and very few outside people) to bring in a contract programmer just to make a prototype. This kickstarter was not to make a full game, just the prototype. There were fun rewards in there that explicitly stated that these rewards wouldn't be granted unless the prototype was able to be used to generate funding for a full version of the game.
The prototype was a disaster. Our first experience with the contracted individual was amazing, his work was excellent. From that point on, things took a dramatic decline in quality, it's been an issue we had been dealing with for some time, and were just not comfortable showcasing the prototype that was created due to our sheer embarrassment of it. There is a certain degree of professional courtesy we owe, and we are going to show it to let people know the kickstarter funds weren't just held, they were used, but the product we got was just not something we were happy with, but down to a personal level, it's just very difficult to show Jesh fans.
This taught us a valuable lesson, and when the opportunity for Bad Dudes 2 approached us, we figured it was a great way for us to start Pinstripe Games fresh. Jesh is not cancelled in any way, it's still a major project we want to develop, but Bad Dudes 2 was a great way to get us off to a much better start. With Bad Dudes 2 we have gone out and found talent to hire directly, and most of the game will be developed in-house. We had a much more strict hiring process, and now that the majority of our team is selected, we're ready to get cracking on making this game.
Hope everyone has a good weekend, we're still working out some details of numerous things, i'll be sure to post if something big happens. Be Bad Everyone!
